Accelerated Culture started out as under age ravers with fake id’s going to big drum and bass events such as Best of British, Telepathy, One Nation, Raindance etc.. We were young and loving the music and hype party atmosphere. Our favourite DJ’s at the time were Andy C, Mampi Swift, Bad Company, Nicky Black market etc..
We originally started DJ’ing so we could play our favourite tunes that we had heard in the clubs, from there it was a gradual progression into making music and the formation of Accelerated Culture came a few years later.
Anything from a sample to a everyday sound you hear on the street. We both have different tastes completely apart from dnb. Many times we will hear a sound record it on a phone and take it into the studio for vibe or beat. Whatever grabs us at the time, we go with.
The Accelerated Culture process is different for every tune, in essence we don’t have a specific process and try and start fresh with every project. We work separately and together but in general we just go with the flow and try to keep it as simple as possible.
Its fast tempo and high energy make it one of the most exciting genres in the edm scene. It’s a very versatile genre which allows a lot of other music to be become adapted to it. The dnb industry has been growing and with so many new artist’s and audience’s coming in it is a very exciting time to be part of it.
There is a lot of good music out there. In saying that Pendulum, Friction, Andy C, Noisa, Mampi Swift, Alex Perez, Ed Rush & Optical, are just a few names that really stand out.
There is a lot of good music and a lot of good producers which has opened things up more doors in the genre and crossing over to others. We feel at the end of the day drum and bass has been constantly changing and redefining over the years and no doubt will continue to do so.
Keep going, finish as many projects as you can and do not loose sight of your goal.
None specific they have all been great but playing at Brixton mass brings back some good memories.
We are excited that the new Accelerated Culture EP is on the way, and we have a truck load of projects in the finishing stages so watch this space for more music in the future. Massive respect to Default Recording a solid label with some great ideas. Watch out and expect to see more of Accelerated Culture and Default Recording later this year.
